Overview

Catalogs help you organize products into meaningful collections based on your business needs. Whether you're managing different product lines, client portfolios, or market segments, catalogs provide a structured way to group and manage your products independently.

Creating a Catalog

Step-by-Step Guide

1. Navigate to Catalogs from the main menu
2. Click the Create Catalog button
3. Fill in the catalog details:
   • Name: A descriptive name for your catalog (e.g., "Summer Collection 2025", "Client ABC Products")
   • Description: Optional context about the catalog's purpose
   • Color: Choose from 20 colors for visual identification
4. Click Create to save your catalog

Color Selection

Each catalog can have a unique color that appears throughout the platform:

• 20 color options available including slate, red, orange, amber, yellow, green, blue, purple, pink, and more
• Colors appear as accent borders on catalog cards
• Color dots help identify catalogs in lists and navigation
• Colored badges show product counts and status

Adding Products to Catalogs

You have multiple ways to add products to your catalogs:

Option 1: Add Existing Products

Add products that are already in your system:

1. Open your catalog from the Catalogs page
2. Click Add Existing Products
3. Browse or search for products in the dialog
4. Select one or multiple products using checkboxes
5. Click Add to Catalog

Features:

• Search by name, SKU, or other attributes
• View product details before adding
• Select multiple products at once
• Products already in the catalog are automatically skipped

Option 2: Create New Products

Add new products directly within a catalog:

1. Open your catalog
2. Click Create Products
3. Fill in product details:
   • Name (required)
   • SKU (required)
   • Brand, Manufacturer, or MPN (optional)
4. Click Create Product

The product is automatically added to your catalog after creation.

Option 3: Import Products from CSV

Bulk add products using a CSV file:

1. Open your catalog
2. Click Import from CSV
3. Prepare your CSV file with one of these identifier columns:
   • id - Product ID from your system
   • sku - Stock Keeping Unit
   • externalId - External identifier if you use one
4. Upload your CSV file
5. Click Import

How it works:

• The system looks for products matching the IDs, SKUs, or External IDs in your CSV
• Products found in your system are added to the catalog
• Products already in the catalog are skipped
• Products not found are reported in the results
• You'll see a summary showing:
  • Products Added: Successfully added to catalog
  • Products Skipped: Already in catalog
  • Products Not Found: Not in your system

Best Practices:

• Include only one identifier column per CSV (id, sku, or externalId)
• Ensure products exist in your system before importing to catalogs
• Use SKUs if you don't have direct access to product IDs
• Keep your CSV files clean with no empty rows

Managing Catalog Products

Viewing Products

When you open a catalog, you'll see all products organized in a table with:

• Product name and SKU for quick identification
• Parent Product link if the product is a variant
• Product Type badge (Parent or Variant) for easy identification
• Enrichment status showing whether products have been enriched
• Validation status if products have been validated
• Action menu for individual product operations
• Bulk selection checkboxes for multiple product operations

Filtering Products

Use the Type filter dropdown to view specific product types:

• All Products: Show all products in the catalog (default)
• Parent Products Only: Show only parent products (products with variants)
• Non-Parent Products Only: Show products that are not parent products

This filter helps you:

• Quickly find parent products to manage product families
• Identify variant products and their relationships
• Organize enrichment/validation workflows by product type

Bulk Operations

Select multiple products to perform operations on groups:

Bulk Enrichment

1. Select products using checkboxes
2. Click Enrich Selected
3. Choose your AI model:
   • Budget: Fast and economical
   • Normal: Recommended balance
   • Pro: Enhanced accuracy
   • Ultra: Premium quality
4. Configure options:
   • Extract Product Images: Automatically extract and store images
   • Web Search: Search the web for additional product information
   • Include existing attributes: Pass current values to the model. Turn off to regenerate without keeping old specs
   • Use Attribute Set: Apply a specific attribute set for targeted enrichment
5. Click Confirm & Enrich

Bulk Validation

1. Select products using checkboxes
2. Click Validate Selected
3. Choose your AI model
4. Configure validation options
5. Click Confirm & Validate

Bulk Remove

Remove multiple products from a catalog:

1. Select products using checkboxes
2. Click Remove Selected
3. Confirm your action in the dialog
4. Products are removed from the catalog

Note: Removing products from a catalog does NOT delete them from your system. They remain in your main Products list and can be added to other catalogs or re-added later.

Individual Product Actions

Click the ⋮ (three dots) menu on any product row to:

• View Attributes: See all enriched attributes
• Edit Product: Update product details
• Enrich Product: Run enrichment for this single product
• Validate Product: Run validation for this single product
• Remove from Catalog: Remove from this catalog (product remains in system)

Catalog Operations

Editing Catalogs

Update catalog details at any time:

1. Open your catalog
2. Click the Edit button in the catalog header
3. Update:
   • Name
   • Description
   • Color
4. Click Save Changes

Deleting Catalogs

Remove a catalog when no longer needed:

1. Navigate to the Catalogs page
2. Click the ⋮ menu on the catalog card
3. Select Delete Catalog
4. Confirm deletion

Important: Deleting a catalog does NOT delete the products within it. Products remain in your system and can be found in the main Products list.

Use Cases

Scenario 1: Managing Client Product Lines

Situation: You manage product data for multiple clients and need to keep their inventories separate.

Solution:

1. Create a catalog for each client (e.g., "Client ABC", "Client XYZ")
2. Assign each a unique color for easy identification
3. Import client products via CSV using their SKUs
4. Enrich each client's products independently with appropriate attribute sets
5. Generate client-specific reports and exports

Scenario 2: Seasonal Collections

Situation: You need to enrich products for different seasons with varying levels of detail.

Solution:

1. Create catalogs like "Summer 2025", "Fall 2025", "Holiday 2025"
2. Add products specific to each season
3. Use different AI models based on product complexity and budget
4. Track enrichment progress separately for each collection
5. Validate before launching each seasonal campaign

Scenario 3: Product Category Management

Situation: Different product categories require different enrichment approaches.

Solution:

1. Create catalogs by category: "Electronics", "Apparel", "Home Goods"
2. Apply category-specific attribute sets during enrichment
3. Use Pro/Ultra models for technical products (electronics)
4. Use Budget/Normal models for simpler products (apparel)
5. Manage quality control independently per category

Scenario 4: New Product Testing

Situation: You want to test enrichment configurations on a subset of products before applying to your entire inventory.

Solution:

1. Create a "Test Catalog" with sample products
2. Add a small batch of representative products
3. Experiment with different AI models and attribute sets
4. Review results and adjust configurations
5. Apply successful configurations to larger production catalogs

Best Practices

Naming Conventions

• Use clear, descriptive names: "Q1 2025 Products" instead of "Products1"
• Include dates or versions when relevant: "Electronics - v2.0"
• Add client names for client-specific catalogs: "ACME Corp - Winter Line"

Color Organization

• Assign similar colors to related catalogs (e.g., all client catalogs in blue shades)
• Use contrasting colors for different product categories
• Maintain consistency across your organization

Catalog Size

• Keep catalogs focused on specific purposes rather than creating too many small catalogs
• Consider creating subcatalogs if a catalog grows too large (500+ products)
• Balance between organization and manageability

Bulk Operations

• Test enrichment configurations on a few products before running bulk operations
• Monitor credit usage during large bulk enrichments
• Use bulk remove to clean up catalogs periodically

CSV Imports

• Always use SKUs or External IDs in CSV imports for reliability
• Validate your CSV format before uploading
• Keep a backup of your CSV files for reference
• Import in batches for very large product sets (100-500 products per import)

Workflow Integration

• Create catalogs that align with your existing workflows
• Use catalogs to separate test/staging from production products
• Leverage catalogs for team-based product management (assign catalogs to team members)

Troubleshooting

Products Not Found During CSV Import

Problem: Import shows "Products Not Found" for some SKUs.

Solutions:

• Verify the products exist in your main Products list
• Check that SKUs in the CSV exactly match product SKUs (case-sensitive)
• Ensure you're using the correct identifier column (id, sku, or externalId)
• Import products to your system first, then add them to catalogs

Cannot Add Product to Catalog

Problem: Product doesn't appear in the "Add Existing Products" dialog.

Solutions:

• Check if the product is already in the catalog (will be skipped automatically)
• Verify the product exists in your Products list
• Try searching by SKU instead of name
• Refresh the page and try again

Bulk Operations Not Working

Problem: Bulk enrichment or validation doesn't start.

Solutions:

• Ensure you have selected at least one product
• Check your credit balance (bulk operations require credits)
• Verify you have selected valid AI model and options
• Try with a smaller batch of products first

Color Not Showing

Problem: Catalog color doesn't appear in the interface.

Solutions:

• Refresh the page to ensure latest changes are loaded
• Try selecting a different color and saving
• Clear browser cache if issue persists
